If you’ve been following the news lately, you may have heard that a massive (and devastating) earthquake hit Nepal yesterday. You may have also heard that a huge avalanche hit the Everest base camp during the quake. One lucky soul actually caught it on camera, and lived. This is intense. WARNING: Graphic language (do you blame him?)!
I absolutely love California. There are few places join this incredible planet where you can go snow skiing and surfing in the same day. The landscape is beautiful, and restaurants are fantastic (In N Out hell yes).
I think what I like most though is the possibility. Every turn presents a new challenge or adventure. Mammoth and Tahoe in northern California provide some pretty incredible skiing (with beer of the same quality), and the mountains of southern California give the residents and tourists plenty of hiking and mountain biking trails. Venice Beach is pretty kitschy, but also has the best people watching on the planet.
Lauren and I are making the most for adventure with a quick family weekend. If I’ve missed anything as far as things to do, sound off in the comments.
Well this is a change. I like to think that my little bubble of flying on a Friday evening is pretty much the norm for everyone, or all airports. Let it be known that for once in my life, I’m wrong!
In a few days, a few friends and I will be taking off to beautiful Sandy, Utah for the next call of the Wolf Pack. We will mostly be skiing Alta and Snowbird, two of the top ski resorts in North America. Stay tuned for more info and pics…this could be epic.
This article is a bit older, but Lonely Planet has a list of the greatest races that you should watch live. Great read, pretty interesting stuff there.
